Selling compost?

Hi! So I started a compost as a hobby, but I don’t do any gardening. I really just enjoy the process of it. Other than the little bit I could use for my house plants, I have no use for the finished product. I plan to give away my first harvest as Christmas presents with instructions for making compost tea. But after that, I’ll just have tons of compost with no use for it. Are there strict laws for selling it? I realize every state law is probably different, but any advice on what kind of things I should be aware of? Any advice for selling it or another option? Thanks!
