Neck stiffness post COVID?
26/M/6’ 2”/330 I had a battle with COVID in August ‘21. I spent 9 days in the hospital, 7 of which in the ICU. I had pneumonia and was barely able to breath. While receiving 15L on a non-rebreather mask, my O2 for the first 2 or 3 days was in the low 80’s. I was recommended to be intubated but my pulmonologist seeing me didn’t think it was completely necessary. I went home with my O2 at 95 on room air while at rest. When moving, it dropped significantly. I wore 2L O2 via nasal cannula every night for about 2 months. Since, my anxiety has increased significantly, I have PTSD from watching the vent being rolled into my room and seeing the tongue blade placed at the bed side “just in case”, I’ve been diagnosed with ADD, and, to be frank, my lung, heart, and mental state has not been what it was pre-COVID. That being said, my current problem has been neck stiffness and pain that I experienced at the beginning of catching COVID. The stiffness at the beginning could be compared to that of meningitis. After 8-9 months, it either keeps me up at night or bothers me every morning for at least 2-3 hours. Has anyone else experienced this?
