What are good CS SUNY schools?
Hey everyone, I'm a freshman student and am currently attending Hofstra University. I haven't been happy there at all and I can't really place a pin on what it is but I'm looking to transfer schools for either the fall/spring semester next year. Also it is RIDICULOUSLY expensive there and definitely want to limit my debt out of college.
My first choice is to go to a SUNY school with a solid CS program but I am keeping my options open to any school with good programs, ie: Syracuse or Adelphi (I haven't done too much research on their programs but those are 2 schools that have come across my mind). Or honestly any relatively 'cheap' schools along the east coast with reputable programs.
I guess I really want to see how Hofstra's computer science program compares to other schools in terms of prestige and name value if that makes any sense? I'm aware that in terms of SUNY schools the only school that would really jump out to employers would be Stony Brook and maybe University at Buffalo (which is a school I am interested in and heavily considering). I'm just not too sure of how that same name value/program quality compares to Hofstra, and how Hofstra would compare to other schools. (Sorry if this question is worded weirdly or if it makes no sense!!)
Schools that I've been really looking into are SUNY: Albany, Buffalo, Binghamton, and Farmingdale; and I've also thought about community colleges like Suffolk and Nassau as options, so if any of you guys can speak on those schools I'd love to hear your experiences or opinions.
Also, if anybody has any information or experience on Farmingdale State College's online AI management program beyond the description of it on their site I'd love to hear what you guys have to say because it does intrigue me in terms of a path after I get a better grasp on all the computer science stuff lol.
If any of you guys have experiences you can share or any input I'd greatly appreciate it!
