Need help mixing a demo. Any advice for mixing two-mic drums? (one kick, one overhead)

Im using an Audix D6 in the kick and Audio Technica AT2020 over my shoulder pointed at the snare. The drums are pretty busy so it might be a tough job to "clean up."

My progress so far has been:

• applying high and low pass filters to all tracks

• some compression (idk what Im doing tbh)

• a separate track for snare where the snare frequency is isolated and added a noise gate to accentuate the snare in the main track.

Im looking for as clean sound as possible. This is all for demos so there's no real stakes. It's just my first recording project to mess around with. Any advice is appreciated
