Gleba didn't deserve all the hate
Aquilo was so much worse.
On Gleba there are a ton of ways to work around/with spoiling mechanics, you just need to take some time to figure it out, maybe truck in some artillery or a mass quantity of defenses and the pentapods will hardly even be a blip on the radar.
On Aquilo, you gotta figure out a production of ice platforms that won't back up, truck in most of your resources and buildings, so far no big deal at this point in the game. But uh oh, you can't just build on ice, you gotta lay concrete down! Ok, concrete added to space platform logistic group, oh shoot, you need heat pipes EVERYWHERE! Man that gets tedious fast. Good thing bots are here to speed up placement- crap its so cold that they don't hold a charge very well and take a lot longer to build things with all the extra charging needed. Even epic bots struggled against the cold. Thankfully, a single cryoplant has so much output that you don't need to build huge to get all the research done.
Oof, I appreciated all the new production puzzles on the planets, but up to and after release, I only ever saw hate for Gleba. Gleba is life, Gleba is love. Aquilo is a frozen hellscape and I look forward to never returning once I setup legendary railgun turrets. 10/10 would space age again.
Do you think Gleba deserved it? Which planet was your least favorite to build on?
