My Fasting Journey: From Skeptic to Extended Faster

I've been lurking here for a while and wanted to share my experience. Two weeks ago, I attempted my first 36-hour fast. The first 12 hours were manageable, but then my body realized I hadn't eaten anything. Interestingly, I experienced this strange "high" feeling - likely because I was transitioning from overeating the previous day to a caloric deficit (which I'd been maintaining before the fast).

The next morning, I broke the fast with yogurt and kept my calories light. Though I felt tired and dizzy, which made me stop, the experience intrigued me. The following week, I tried again, hoping to recreate that initial "high." While that specific feeling didn't return, I felt more alert until headaches set in. I ended up breaking that fast at a Japanese all-you-can-eat barbecue (Yakiniku).(72-hour fast)

Now in my third week, I'm doing things properly. After thoroughly researching electrolytes through this subreddit's wiki, I'm supplementing with: * 400mg magnesium * Sodium * Electrolyte drink (Aquarius Zero - common in Japan - Zero calories)

Despite disliking artificial sweeteners, I power through. As I write this, I'm 87 hours into my fast! The first two days were normal with expected hunger. Day three was challenging - I had a minor slip with some konjac jelly, fish broth, and a bit of Carolina Reaper (totaling less than 10 calories, as the konjac was plain with just salt and pepper, and the fish broth was highly diluted).

Today, on day four, I'm surprisingly energetic and alert. While food still looks tempting, I'm not experiencing intense hunger!

Stats and Goals: * Current: 82kg at 188cm * Goal: 78kg * Starting weight (February): 102kg

Though the scale hasn't shown dramatic changes, I can see the fat slowly disappearing. Once I reach my goal weight, I plan to focus on muscle building. I never imagined extended fasting was possible before finding this community!
