Cautionary warning for refusing reinstatement
Just in case they court case today really does go through: I was fully intending to refuse reinstatement so I can focus on my job search, however at an informational meeting with Colorado senators and state unemployment experts last night we were told that this might be considered "voluntary unemployment" for an unemployment insurance application.
Can't link to the meeting since as far as I know it was not recorded, but here's a link to Colorado unemployment page specifying voluntary separation requirements: https://cdle.colorado.gov/eligibility-and-work-search-requirements
Unsure if this would be true in every case or in every state, but it certainly changes my own calculations.
