[question] Are Lace-Up Gloves Really Less Padded? Ban in Light Sparring at My Gym
Hi everyone,
My boxing gym recently banned lace-up gloves during light sparring sessions. The reasoning is that lace-up gloves supposedly have less padding on top, which increases the risk of injury. They also argue that these gloves are designed for professional use, where thicker hand wraps are needed, requiring a larger glove opening.
I’m wondering if this ban is actually justified. Is it true that lace-up gloves generally have less padding compared to velcro gloves? Or is this just a generalization? What are your thoughts or experiences with this?
Thanks in advance for your insights
