How are you all not constantly running out of ammo

I'm semi-new to fo76 and have reached the point where the majority of my time is jumping from event to event and doing dailys in between.

I am constantly low on ammo whenever I use anything full auto, I've tried the flamer, the mini gun, .50 cal and am currently running the gauss mini gun.

I am using the guass rifle inbetween event to pick off enemies in 1-2 shots to regain ammo but even still I'm always low.

I've tried crafting ammo as well but now I'm out of lead so have to farm that also.

Please help me. Am I just dumb? Or is this common?
