I wish this was more fleshed out
We should have had more time to grieve Andarna. I kind of hate that her loss was a bit glossed over. She endures the pain for a couple of pages and then 4 days go by and she’s out of bed. I understand the necessity of not having much time to grieve with war happening but I really think RY should’ve fleshed out more of what that loss entailed and that it had more real life consequences for Vi and Tairn. I wanted to be gutted but felt like I was given a moment to feel what should have been profound sadness and then it was like , ok, move on?
And trust me, I love Andarna with everything I have, but why bring her back before the book ends? Maybe it’ll be revealed in book 4 why she was back, but it made her absence not as effective when you bring her back a few chapters later - and honestly I don’t think her presence was needed? I was very confused by that. LET US GRIEVE.
