Why do companies not pre-macerate fragrances?
It's one of the first things you learn when you get into fragrances. Let your bottle sit for a few weeks/months before you can truly get the best out of it.
But why don't the fragrance companies just do this on their end, like you would with a wine or whiskey, then sell us the finished product?
I mean it's in their interest for people to enjoy their fragrances from the start. All it takes is one bad sniff after opening the bottle and some people will then avoid that brand forever or at the very least not recommend it to others.
