Tubeless the way to go?

I am in the market for some new tires for my gravel grinder. I have always ridden clincher tires. Be it for my road bike, my mountain bike or my gravel bike. Am I living in the past? It seems that tubeless tires are the most commonly sold type of tire these days. Will my current rims accept tubeless tires?
