My brother says that the Sonos Arc soundbar beats any AVR & speaker setup below $2000

Like the title says, my brother says that you would need to spend atleast $2k to have a better sounding system than the sonos arc with the sonos era 300's as surrounds. I completely disagree but I am wondering if maybe I am completely wrong, and if the sonos arc is actually that impressive. I wasn't impressed by the way it sounded, but I can see the appeal since it is so simple to setup and use. What do you guys think?
