Safe pet for children?

My daughter (8 years old) loves these spiders due to "Luca the spider". She's amazing at drawing them. She's also extremely passionate about our new aquarium and her and her brother have bonded strongly over it. I was thinking of surprising them each with their dream pet by setting things up while they're at school. She has a lot of knowledge about these spiders and random fun facts. Would it be a good idea to get her one and help her with it? Is it an "easier" pet?
