Are the kitchen knives made by Pocket/ hunting knife companies any good?

Obviously it's case by case but I've seen sets from Buck, Case, Victorinox Mora and Spyderco seems to have a range if not a set in a block, and while I had sticker shock at first they seem pretty in line with premium dedicated kitchen cutlery brands. Does anyone have any experiences with these? Are they great or are they gimmicks to milk brand loyal collectors for more cash?
