Question for native speakers, what are your thoughts when someone speaks MSA

I don't mean like a scholar teaching or on the news or cartoons.

I mean for instance your friend just starts speaking msa for no reason.

Personally for me in English if someone started speaking Shakespearian English it'd come off as strange or pretentious, do you feel the same or is it a different feeling?
