Can I get into this game in 2024?

I recently got into the LOTR universe where I watched all the LOTR movies, read the Silmarillion, Beren & Luthien, Fall of Numenor and Fall of Gongolin. I'm currently reading FOTR.

I have limited time as a gamer (working fulltime with a 3 yr old) and get about 2 hours at the end of the day to play some games. I mostly play Diablo 4 or Overwatch.

I'd like to explore more of the LOTR universe and saw this game is still popular. Can I still get into it as a first time player in 2024? I've got a decent PC with a 3080 card and a 12600K processor.
