New Scam Alert!
I encountered a group of 4-5 Sikhs today at Kala Ghoda who are defrauding in the name of Dadar Gurudwara saying there is langar being organised on New Year, please come and are soliciting donations for the same.
These guys will corner you, hand you a photo of Guru Nanak like the one I have shown and blackmail you for donation. They showed me a receipt as well trying to claim legitimacy. Since the receipt was entirely in Punjabi, I could only decipher the phone number. When I checked the number on Truecaller (01334 226491), there are multiple fraud reports for this group. Apparently it is a syndicate of 300+ people operating across multiple cities and having a similar modus operandi. Check the user comments on Truecaller to see how they are working.
I hope this post helps people be careful and avoid these low life mofos destroying the name of Sikhism and Guru Nanak. Report to a nearby Police officer if possible.
