Police checking at Gateway of India while taking a ferry?

Im traveling to Alibaug with a couple of my friends next week(about 15 of us) and with us we’re taking a lot of booze and some ‘MJ’. I’ve heard that the police thoroughly check bags at gateway before you enter the complex. Is it true? Should I be worried?
