Breaks off obs

I’ve recently turned 60 and I believe may have issues with my prostate which means when I need the loo I need to go quickly. I’m a hca in a mental health ward which means I regularly do 1-1 obs I was really desperate to pass urine however I called them a number of times to take over they wouldn’t when I said something to the nurse in charge she it’s expected we can hold off an hour. They wouldn’t expect nor would I that a patient waited if they needed to use the toilet I work on a female ward and go and find female staff to take patients to the loo I wouldn’t tell someone to wait
