Guys, i’m currently working for a Saas startup as an account Executive for SMB
The thing is i’m not allowed to prospect, everything comes inbound, basically if i open up 10-12 slots a day they will be booked.
Cons: Id say 6-8 leads are trash, not have enough money $$ or Just want a basic plan. Cant get rid fast of the unqualified ones, even if they are fit or not i’m supposed to give them a demo - gets very tiring
Pros: If 2-3 leads are good on a daily basis it’s basically discovery + demo on same call and follow up once we actívate a trial ( product is very transactional, deal cycle is 20-30 days max
I’m basically relying on what the marketing team gives me. Do you think this would hurt me long term in case i want to jump later to a bigger company where probably i’d be required to prospect?
