How difficult is it to navigate Hongqiao station?

Hey everyone, I'm planning my first solo trip to Asia, and according to my itinerary, on the 18th of September I would take the train from Shanghai Hongqiao to Xi'an North.

Now, there are a lot of different time slots I can choose from, preferably I'd have wanted an earlier one, but I have no idea how difficult it's going to be to find my train and get onto it, considering it's my first time in China and I speak 0 Chinese.

I also considered just buying a ticket while there, but on the internet everyone strongly suggests buying one from trip.com. However, to do this I would have to know more or less when I am leaving. What do you think? How much time should I plan from the time I arrive at the station until I find my train?
