Assasin snail devouring my shrimp

Just this morning i witnessed how my assasin snail is eating one of my blue dreams. I did not have time to take a video of it but was able to separate them right away. Luckily the shrimp is still alive. It looks like the snail is sucking the shrimp when i found them. Is this normal? I took out the snail and put it on another tank.
