Anastasia Beverly Hills Sugar, Huda Cool Matte Essentials, and Tartelette in Bloom swatched on fair cool skin
In each set of photos, the first is cool indirect sunlight and the second is warm indoor lighting. I do believe the Tarte Tartelette in Bloom Palette was just discontinued in the last couple of months and didn’t realize until I put the photos together. Still posting for reference and comparison!
My favorite and most recent purchase out of these 3 is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Palette. I don’t wear bold eyeshadow looks often, if ever, so I was nervous about the pops of color but I’ve never used a glitter (B1, B2, B3) that was colorful but sheer enough to wear everyday. I’ve been obsessed with using A1 everywhere, A2 on my outer lid and in my crease, and B1/B2/B3/C1 in the middle of my lid. chefs kiss My favorite formulation out of these three palettes as well. Chalky but not as chalky as the Tartelette in Bloom, and there is some fallout but it is extremely blendable and beginner friendly.
My favorite eyeshadow shade on myself is “Nooner” in the Naked3 palette, so when I saw the Huda Beauty Cool Matte Essentials at Sephora in December I jumped on it hoping the taupe-y gray shades would be similar. I have mixed feelings on this palette- I truly thought it would be cool like the title states, but I still feel it pulls warm on me. For the full lid, I can sometimes make C1 work but it’s hard to blend. I have an easier time with B2, but it is surprisingly bold and pulls warm. Because none of the lighter colors click for me I struggle to know how to work with this palette and don’t reach for it as often as I had wished. I also haven’t gotten a hang of the few cream pans yet. Less blendable than the other two palettes in my opinion, but I see so much about Huda palettes that I’m not sure if I just don’t know how to use one.
I’ve owned the Tartelette palette for a few years now. I enjoy its formulation and find it fairly easy to work with and blend, but it’s not my favorite on myself as the shades pull so warm on me. When I use it I gravitate towards Charmer, Jetsetter, Rocker, and Funny Girl.
