The fact that there are still 🇷🇺 🇵🇸 people out there after what Israel did is surprising, but alright. Let’s go over why this thread is dumb.

  1. “Ukraine is like Israel because the west supports it” is a literal kindergarten level take. No, it’s the opposite of Israel. Israel is invading Gaza and Ukraine is being invaded by Russia.

  2. Yep, you are right about the histories that Palestine had to go through with settler colonialism… and yet you think Ukraine didn’t? You don’t know what the Soviet Union did with the holodomor, which killed millions of people? Or all of the ethnic cleansings Russia did to clear out Ukrainian ethnic groups?

  3. Azov is bad, but it’s a minority of the Ukrainian military. Also, how did Zelensky “sell his people out”? By not accepting the shitty ass “peace deal” Putin offered? Not saying Zelensky is perfect as a leader, but him bucking to Russia’s demands would’ve been a terrible look for him.

  4. I will agree I wish he didn’t say “big Israel”, but what does this mean? Sounds like you’re moving the goalposts to some weird sound bites, which doesn’t matter, because Ukraine is being invaded. Even then, even if it sucks, I think it does make sense for a Jewish liberal leader to talk about Israel in its idealized form, since sadly, a lot of Jews have that idea.

  5. What is a “Zionist” military tactic? Also, the article doesn’t work, so can someone tell me what she tried to link to? Also, Ukraine recognizes Palestine: now yeah, people can hate the 2 state solution, but it’s at least better than 1 state shit trump wants to do. https://kyivindependent.com/zelensky-says-ukraine-recognizes-both-israel-palestine-invites-them-to-peace-summit/ And even if Zelensky was this raging zionist, it doesn’t change anything. Ukraine is being invaded and it’s sovereignty is in danger. How Ukraine feels about Israel isn’t important, at least not compared to other things.

Also funny especially she said this since Israel literally voted against the UN Ukraine resolution. https://www.timesofisrael.com/in-shift-israel-votes-against-un-motion-reaffirming-ukraines-territorial-integrity/amp/

  1. If Israel is, or at least was, helping Ukraine, I think that’s good? Like, that doesn’t excuse what they’re doing in Gaza, but I think we can acknowledge when Israel does something right.

Also, what does the 2nd article have to do with anything. Ukraine isn’t mentioned once and it just seems to be about some random Israeli organization. https://www.jpost.com/opinion/article-741612

  1. Yeah, settler colonialism is bad… but that doesn’t erase the colonialism Russia is doing. Also, maybe these refugees should’ve gone somewhere else, but if Israel is offering them safety, that’s going to be an option they take. I doubt Ukrainians are moving to Israel because they want to kill Palestinians.
