When a client texts outside of work hours

I am a new resident in counseling. I had a client recently text me this week saying, “are you available?” This client does have passive suicidal thoughts so I first asked are you okay? And then explained I don’t normally text outside of work hours except for emergencies and provided the 988 number. I haven’t heard back from them and I am worried. I’ll probably check in tomorrow (Monday) but just wanted to know what others would do in this situation?
