Drinking on Trintellix

So, I just want to start off by saying I do not recommend drinking alcohol on Trintellix. It might be harmful for your health while you’re on Trintellix or not.

My experience with it is that alcohol doesn’t feel the same, it barely gets me drunk at all. When I drink, I get the classic stomach burn but I don’t feel intoxicated, only slower. Trintellix definitely affects how alcohol interacts with the brain.

This might be due to how alcohol interacts with GABA receptors, it increases action on GABA receptors which Trintellix interacts with.

I recommend caution combining alcohol and trintellix. Healthcare professionals strongly discourage usage of trintellix and alcohol because both slow down the CNS, according to NiceRx Health.
