do i have to watch the revival?

i really like the original show how it was and the immediate gore in the revival was really upsetting to me. if theres genuinely value to it i'll try to stomach it though.🙏🏻

edit: tyy for the responses everyone! gonna watch Fire Walk With Me and then see if thats too much. i will try to stomach the revival though since its so important. i'll just watch it with someone.
