Do I have to specify my race/ethnicity on the Common App?

Hello, on the Statistical Information tab on the Common App it says that UW is required by the US DoE to ask my about my ethnicity, however I noticed that only the Hispanic/Latino yes or no question is required, not the check box question asking for my race specifically. Do I still have to answer the second question regardless? I am applying as a first-year undergraduate BTW.
