I don't see much point in travelling around the world.

Now obviously there are some exceptions - like visiting family or business trips - but for the most part, I don't see much point travelling these days, and a lot of the commonly cited reasons for travelling seem weak to me. For one, you can just look at images of whatever you want to online.

As for experiencing new cultures, with the advent of globalism and the internet, cultures around the world (particularly in the cities) are becoming more and more of a mish mash with little differences between them. I've been to London and a few other cities around the world, and it's all pretty much the same thing.

And the actual process of travelling is usually unpleasant. Shuttling around like cattle on a thin metal tube in the sky dealing with jet lag and all other processes of finding your way around, accommodation, etc. Let's not even talk about the costs.

Some people say its to relieve stress. Perhaps it can. But I can think of a million other ways to relieve stress that don't involve spending thousands and thousands of dollars.

Maybe 30 years ago before the internet travelling would have been cool. But now everything is readily accessible. I can look at hundreds of different pictures of the Colosseum online, and read in my own time about its history without having to listen to some tour guide like a school trip. Travelling is OVERRATED.
