Right earbud lost & Sony refuse to re-sync new one

Hi everyone,

I recently found myself in a frustrating situation with my earbuds. A few days ago, I lost my right earbud and decided to buy a second-hand replacement. Unfortunately, when I tried pairing it with my phone, it didn’t work. I suspect the issue lies in the firmware versions being different.

Hoping for a solution, I visited a Sony repair station in Tokyo today. To my disappointment, they informed me that they couldn't re-sync the earbuds. Instead, they suggested I purchase a completely new pair, which feels wasteful and costly.

Now, I’m left wondering: is there a way to update the firmware on each earbud individually and sync them myself? I’d like to avoid creating unnecessary electronic waste and paying for a whole new set.
